#CHICO—Guests of the Museum of Northern California Art (monca) had the chance to immerse themselves in their own artistic expression on Saturday, Sept. 17, when the museum opened its roads for a street party.
The event hosted local artists including trauma-informed education specialist and artist, Jess Mercer and the Butte County Art on Wheels art healing van, Marge and local tattoo artist Mr. Sanchez from Exclusive Tattoo Co..
Guests at the event included ceramic artist and veteran Ehren Tool from Berkeley and artist @Ramekon O’Arwisters [#crochetjam] from San Francisco.
The artistic expression on Saturday centered on exploring one’s mental health needs.
“The van Marge — that’s what I call her, you can draw paint and color anywhere on it, and I wipe it away to teach people about creating and destroying equally,” said Mercer.”
